Business Trip
What is the definition of a "Business Trip"? Well, simple, we travel and work with objective and mission, how we do it, and what we've done, how we arrange our trip, doesn't matter, the most important is, we achieved our objective and mission.
I am lucky to have a direct report that understand my way of handling my task "Don't disturb me when I carry our my task, I know what I am doing, if you don't trust me, don't hire me"
Trust your proactive subordinate, allow him to do his own way, let him out shine his own skill, appraise him, and acknowledge his hard work. A big organisation like this is not a kinder garden or a nursery day care center, you don't have to call and check where is he, and what his doing now, this is not necessary, it will only demotivate him. Do not order or give instruction to your subordinates, in fact, ask his opinion or suggestion (even thought you know how to do it), do not shoot him down, let him go his way out and come back with result. Young chiko doesn't mean that they are inexperience, sometime they do have good ideas.
